Avoiding scams to agricultural insurance companies through UAVs

It is becoming increasingly relevant for agricultural insurance companies to be adapted to new technologies that let them to avoid scams; otherwise they will risk losing big quantities of money. In this regard, UAVs have a great potential to reduce costs, scams, and response time, increasing agricultural insurance companies productivity.

The use of UAVs to avoid scams to agricultural insurance companies is not limited to identifying the cultivable terrain of an insured but also, in case it is claimed a production loss to the insurance company due to droughts or damages made by hail, snowfall, or heavy rains, it permits to determine the exact extent of the said loss.

Usually claim processes are slow and farmers lose their money when they have to wait for the agricultural insurance company specialist to finish his/her reports. For this reason the use of UAVs is also beneficial for farmers, since these aircrafts are capable to remotely transmit information in real time to specialists, resulting in faster and more simplified processes to avoid scams and, to sum up, resolving more claims within a reduced time frame, which permits to be more accurate and fair with compensations.
