Several companies have already confirmed their participation as exhibitors at the summit on unmanned systems, UNVEX 2012, to be held in Madrid between 23rd and 26th April. With this participation, it reaches 75 percent of the exhibition space. Among the companies that will be attending the event, there are multiple national companies like Embention.
In addition, UNVEX 2012 will have at this edition the participation of the university environment represented, so far, by the University of Alcalá de Henares and the polytechnics of Madrid and Sevilla. As for the supports in the event, to the Secretary of State for Defense, business associations of AESMIDE and TEDAE, the Hisdesat company, and the technology platform of robotics, HispaRob, it has recently joined the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI).
In this edition, it will be discussed some of the following issues:
Embention will display the company’s main products in the UNVEX show. Veronte Autopilot 1x, responsible for controlling Flamingo, and intended for firefighting are two of the products displayed on UNVEX 2012.
Veronte Autopilot 1x is a failsafe avionics system for advanced UAV and drone autonomous control, compatible with all kinds of platforms, such as airplanes, helicopters, multicopters, hybrids, surface vehicles, etc.
Flamingo consists of firefighting bombs that are transported in cargo aircraft and thrown into the fire by the cargo back door; these are guided by GPS and inertial sensors (INS) to hit specific areas of fire. The great advantage of this project, compared to existing systems, in addition to the elimination of human risks, is the possibility of performing firefighting at night and with bad weather conditions, besides allowing firefighting operations in unreachable locations.
