Last Friday the 13th of November, Embention got the pleasure to participate in the Iberoamerican Drone Conference 2020 through its sales manager Javier Espuch, aerospace engineer and specialist in guidance autopilot systems for eVTOL platforms.
During his intervention, Javier expressed his deep conviction that this market will become the key piece of the urban air mobility, either for the transport of persons or the goods, in a closer and closer to the present time future.
In this sense Javier explained the state of the art and the main challenges that the autopilots for eVTOLs are facing nowadays, highlighting several aspects like the certification or the requirements needed in the integration of the eVTOLs in the controlled air space and as a tool in populated areas.
Veronte Autopilot 4x
Most of the needed features for the safe integration of the eVTOL systems are already included in the Veronte autopilot, a professional autopilot developed by the Spanish company Embention, whose reliability and high quality have made that it earns the right to be the “brain” of the main eVTOL projects worldwide. Not for nothing, high profile companies like Toyota-Skydrive, Lift Aircraft, or the chinese consortium Geely Terrafugia, have already trusted the 4x redundant Veronte autopilot as the main core of their urban air mobility projects.
Veronte is capable of adapting its technology to any kind of platform and controlling it efficiently no matter if it has tilt engines, if it is a multirotor, a VTOL fixed wing, a gyrocopter or a helicopter. On the other hand, its applications are practically unlimited, being successfully working in the fields of urban transport, air taxis, leisure, ambulances, delivery, etc.
In this sense, the Veronte´s capability to manage autonomously multiple different payloads, its agility to avoid possible obstacles in its trajectory as well as its efficient automatic management of its 3 cores redundancy with the possibility of connecting a fourth external autopilot, makes Veronte the perfect candidate for any eVTOL project for urban air mobility.
On the other hand, the quality of its electronics, the continuous engineering support by a team of 60 engineers coming from multiple disciplines (aerospace, telecommunications, electronics, informatics, etc.) and above all its manufacturing under the quality standards DO178 and DO254, guarantees the trust of the most demanding manufacturers of platforms.
After his exposition, Javier stated that the eVTOL projects for urban air mobility are no more part of the science fiction, but they are a palpable reality that sooner rather than later is going to be common and coetaneous to our lives.
