Embention production areas verified under ISO Class 9 cleanroom conditions
Embention has successfully verified that its production facilities meet ISO Class 9 cleanroom conditions, in accordance with the international standard ISO 14644. This milestone reflects the company’s firm commitment to environmental control, quality, and reliability in its manufacturing processes, reinforcing its leadership in the design and production of safety-critical avionics for UAV and eVTOL applications.
Environmental control as a key milestone
Embention has recently verified that its production areas meet ISO Class 9 cleanroom conditions according to the international standard ISO 14644. This important achievement was obtained using in-house measurements carried out with a Particle Counter PCE-MPC 25, ensuring that the results reflect real and current environmental conditions in the company’s production areas.
Having ISO Class 9 conditions represents the first step in environmental control. It demonstrates that Embention has the necessary infrastructure for filtration and ventilation, capable of reducing airborne particles. Achieving this level positions the company on solid technical grounds and opens the door to potential future improvements toward stricter cleanroom classifications, such as ISO Class 8.
Why ISO Class 9 matters
Meeting the requirements of ISO 14644 offers several advantages:
Foundation for future growth: establishing a measurable and standardized level of environmental control makes it easier to scale toward higher standards if project needs evolve.
Internationally recognized standard: adopting a globally accepted framework ensures technical credibility and facilitates external audits and industry comparisons.
Quality assurance: even at this initial level, compliance with ISO Class 9 reflects a controlled environment that reduces contaminant particles, supporting process quality and repeatability.
Formal recognition: instead of vague statements such as “cleaner than before,” Embention can now document and communicate specific, quantifiable metrics that meet ISO 14644 criteria.
Team effort and commitment
This achievement has been possible thanks to the commitment of the entire team, especially the Production Department, whose efforts in maintaining strict protocols, including the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), cleaning routines, FOD (Foreign Object Debris/Damage) prevention, and strict procedures, have been key to reaching these results.
By ensuring ISO Class 9 conditions, Embention not only strengthens the quality of its processes, but also establishes a solid foundation for innovation and future scalability in its facilities.
Certified design and production leadership
Embention is the first company specializing in drone autopilots to achieve APDOA approval from EASA, enabling it to design certified, aviation-grade systems under the strict ETSO standards. At the same time, the company became the first worldwide manufacturer of autopilots for drones and eVTOLs to receive POA certification from AESA. This dual recognition positions Embention as a global benchmark in the development of safety-critical avionics, combining design and manufacturing under the highest civil aviation standards.
With APDOA and POA certifications, together with ISO 9001 and EN9100 quality standards, Embention ensures full traceability and control of its processes. This combination reinforces the company’s commitment to safety, reliability, and scalability, consolidating its role as a trusted partner in the evolving UAV and eVTOL industry.
