Helicus is a leader in integrated medical transport and fleet management services. Its goal is to provide a solution for medical transportation using drones. While Embention is positioned as a leading provider of autopilots and critical components for drones, developing high performance systems in accordance with aircraft certification standards. Both companies have joined forces for a highly reliable integrated solution for rapid medical transport of sensitive items.

Embention and Helicus thus build a complementary integrated offering for drone operators. The joint development can handle more complex operations based on a Swiss cheese model, which includes several levels of independent risk mitigation measures. This configuration will utilize U-Space services and is currently being demonstrated through EU demonstration projects.

Veronte autopilot, which is compatible with all types of autonomous vehicles and provides the reliability required for UAV certification, will be linked to Helicus C2C software in the following main axes: UAV telemetry, flight plan, command and control and video activation.

The joint action of the companies is expected to bring a significant change in the field of healthcare integration services and medical transport with drones. Thanks to this cooperation between Helicus and Embention, patients will be able to get specialized technology, organs or samples much faster.

As mentioned above, the autopilot system will be linked to the Helicus C2C software on all four axes:

  • UAV telemetry link, which facilitates automatic monitoring and recording of measurements.
  • Flight plan, which allows updating the route and mission objectives prior to take-off or during the operation.
  • C2 command and control; allows to take control at any time during the flight, e.g. activated by the operator in case of an emergency.
  • FPV (First Person View) video activation, allows to select the different operator vision modes depending on the mission status.
