COLLABORATIVE LOGISTICS AND PRODUCTION ASSET CONTROL SYSTEM FOR INDUSTRIAL AND MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENTS (COLIBRI)
The Colibri project was born to address the need for reliable information on assets, flows and stock in warehouses, in order to define an effective manufacturing and flow control. Logistics control thus becomes key to the development of a modern, connected and flexible industry in which people and machines operate jointly and co-dependently. The use of drones in warehouses allows effective and automated stock control.
The main objective of the COLIBRI project is to investigate a collaborative logistics and asset control system for industrial and manufacturing environments, based on the incorporation of a new concept of collaborative, industrial, intelligent and connected drone, able to work collaboratively in a productive environment, indoors and with people.
The technical objectives of the COLIBRI project are the following:
OBJ 1. Implement an intelligent and connected asset search, inventory and traceability system, capable of working collaboratively in an industrial and indoor environment, safely together with humans.
OBJ 2. Reduce time and costs in the inventory or location process. The logistics control system will be fast, versatile and effective in industrial environments, as well as extensible with new functionalities.
OBJ 3. Enable a fleet of intelligent mobile devices to operate continuously, automatically and simultaneously without the need for action by the system operator in accordance with the established prerequisites. In addition, the system will be able to operate in large environments and will be expandable and scalable.

Embention and the COLIBRI project.
The general objective of Embention is the development of a navigation system customized to the characteristics of the project. A system capable of indoor positioning and precision navigation through capabilities such as artificial vision and Sense&Avoid to enable the safe flight of drones in warehouses.
The specific objectives are:
This project allows Embention to extend its technological capacity to develop knowledge and tools in the areas in which it participates and that in the medium/long term will involve the development of new services related to the operation of autonomous vehicles in interiors and the deployment of drones in warehouses.
All this will be possible thanks to Embention’s extensive experience in the development of unmanned systems. All this following the strictest safety standards of the aerospace industry in order to guarantee the reliability of the system and ensure the safety of the operation.
The COLIBRI project consortium is made up of Aerotecnic Metallic, S.L., Altran Innovación, S.L., Arcelormittal Innovación, Investigación e Inversión, S.L., Deuser Tech Group, S.L., Embention Sistemas Inteligentes, S.L., Keonn Technologies, S.L. and LGAI Technological Center, S.A.
This project has been subsidized by the CDTI and supported by the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
