The speed down sensor measures the velocity in the Z axis of the platform. Works in the same way as the altimeter, but in this case, instead of a position reading, the magnitude measured is velocity.
Speed Down sensor settings panel
- Sensor variance: variance of the error of the sensor in squared meters per second.
- Input variable: here is indicated the variable that contains the information of the sensor.
- Tilt limits: the sensor measures the variable in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the aircraft, so when the platform is tilted the reading will not reliable. This option allows the definition of a tilt limit, and from that point, the sensor reading will be discarded.
- Speed limits: here are defined the limits of the speed measured by the sensor.
